The Silence Between Us

A professional in the mental health field once told me that emotional inaccessibility has become a constant in our time. More and more people experience what can only be described as existential loneliness — a deep sense of disconnection from those around them.

Many don't feel they have anyone they can truly confide in — no one they can turn to when it really matters. That's a frightening reality to face.

It makes me wonder: are we living in the loneliest generation in history? And if so, do we each carry a responsibility — to be a little more emotionally present, a little more empathetic, and a little more compassionate when it's needed most?
