The Essence of Presence

For the first time, I was asked to provide a list of the individuals under our support and care — a step undertaken in the spirit of transparency, organizational restructuring, and sustainable development of our Association. While I fully acknowledge and respect this process, I must emphasize the crucial importance of protecting the anonymity and confidentiality of our Joias.

The very foundation of our Association lies in offering emotional support without the need to know a person's full name or personal details. It is this trust, this quiet respect for privacy, that allows genuine connection to flourish.

I am especially grateful for the privilege of being present with our palliative patients. Their delicate circumstances remind us that what truly matters is presence — not presentation, not information, but the simple act of being there.

Our essence, our purpose, is to accompany others with compassion — to be present, whether or not we are fully seen.
