Beyond Opinion: The Power of Empathy

Opinion may be one of the easiest forms of human expression, because it asks little of us beyond our own perspective.
Empathy asks far more.
It asks us to pause, set aside our ego and our assumptions, and make the effort to see the world through another person's eyes. To listen without judgement. To understand before we speak. To recognise another person's pain, hopes and fears as deeply human — even when their experience is very different from our own. Perhaps the highest form of understanding is not knowing all the answers, but having the humility and courage to enter another person's world with compassion.
At the heart of our work is this simple belief: no one should have to face a moment of crisis alone.
