On a brighter note today, I've found myself completely absorbed in the quiet, meditative process of arranging flowers. I'm certainly not alone in this—it's well-known how immersion in a gentle craft can soften the edge of negative thoughts.
Focusing deeply on every single petal and leaf strangely silences the chaotic inner chatter. For a few precious moments, it allows me to put aside the ongoing suffering and heavy realities faced by the “Jóias” I follow.
Danish psychologist Anne Kirketerp coined the phrase "meaningful self-forgetfulness" to describe this state: the absolute attention demanded by making something by hand halts our constant inner noise and repetitive rumination. It feels like a profoundly accurate way to describe this peace.
Here is to finding those small, quiet spaces that give our minds room to heal.
